VriendenLoterij extends collaboration with Museum Speelklok
The VriendenLoterij, the Dutch lottery that is committed to culture, will also support Museum Speelklok in the coming years and will extend its collaboration with the museum for five years. For the period from 2024 to 2028, Museum Speelklok will again receive an annual contribution of € 200,000 to continue to make the unique historical collection of self-playing music machines accessible to a wide audience.
Museum Speelklok has been supported by the VriendenLoterij since 2006. Thanks to the annual financial contribution, the museum has been able to present many exhibitions and activities to a wide audience in recent years.
The museum hopes to attract 100,000 visitors again this year, just like in the years before the corona crisis. Museum director Marian van Dijk: ‘We are extremely happy with the extension of our 17-year collaboration. Thanks to the Friends Lottery participants, our museum can acquire important acquisitions for the collection and ensure that our unique collection of music machines continues to play. We can also realize exhibitions on appealing themes such as the new exhibition Make It Work. Music machines & sustainable design opening this week. With the support of the VriendenLoterij, we look forward with great confidence to all our plans for the coming years.’
Jonne Arnoldussen, managing director of the VriendenLoterij: ‘We are proud to be able to extend the collaboration with Museum Speelklok for a period of five years. We are happy to contribute to ensuring that this cheerful museum for young and old can continue to develop in the coming years. Our greatest thanks go to our participants who make this extension possible. In addition, we look forward to beautiful exhibitions in Museum Speelklok, which will of course be accessible for free with the Friends Lottery VIP CARD, and events that we organize together exclusively for participants.’
