Hans Hooijmaijers joins Supervisory Board
In September, Cathy Jager stepped down as a member of the Supervisory Board. Her museum-related portfolio within the Board has been taken over by Hans Hooijmaijers.
Hans Hooijmaijers (b. 1967) earned a degree in physics and worked as a researcher and lecturer before becoming a curator at Rijksmuseum Boerhaave in Leiden in 1999. In 2008, he became Head of Collections and Deputy Director there. In that role, he oversaw the museum’s major renovation and redesign.
He is deeply fascinated by the mechanics behind historical musical instruments and holds great admiration and interest in Museum Speelklok’s restoration expertise. Since 2020, he has been the director of Museum De Bastei in Nijmegen, a 16th-century fortification that tells the story of life in, around, and along the river.
